An ideal setting in Touraine to meet nature

Over the course of the seasons, in Angers, discover more than 275,000 exceptional plants from all continents during a family trip to the heart of these extraordinary gardens: exceptional collections of orchids, roses and palms, from giant greenhouses to lush gardens, from rice fields to swamps, from generous vegetable gardens to dark primary forests, from Mediterranean landscapes to the lands of the Orient… Embark on a colourful and unusual adventure!

The history of Terra Botanica begins in the 15th century, when King René fell in love with plants and flower gardens. He introduced Mediterranean species to Anjou. Then, the great explorers brought back many plants that were cultivated in the gardens of castles, on the banks of the Loire, and then in the nurseries that were created in Angers in the 19th century. Today, the Loire Valley is home to a multitude of crops that embellish our living environment.
